During the Benelli lift, your surgeon will remove excess skin tissue
from around the areola in a doughnut shape through a carefully placed
incision. He or she may take a crescent-shaped piece of tissue that
is taken from the top of the areola for an additional lift, and the
remaining skin is sutured with “purse strings (a continuous
circular suture) to the darker area surrounding the nipple. If an implant
is not used, your surgery may result in a flatter, rounder breast shape.
The fine scar line will be barely visible.
